Meet the Staff – Gowdy Cannon

I am currently the pastor of Bear Point FWB Church in Sesser, IL. Previously I served for 17 years as the associate bilingual pastor at Northwest Community Church in Chicago, IL. My wife, Kayla, and I have been married for almost seven years and have a 3-year old son, Liam Erasmus. I have been a student at Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago and Welch College in Nashville. I love The USC (the real one in SC, not the other one in CA), Seinfeld, John 3:30, Chic-Fil-A, Dumb and Dumber, the book of Job, preaching and teaching, and arguing about sports.

    I greatly fear the day I must meet Gowdy in a battle of feats of strength. If I managed to beat him, it would be a true Festivus miracle. And that day is coming, my friends, and I have a list of grievances as high as an elephant’s eye.

    Gowdy is El Nino. All other tropical storms must bow before, El Nino. For those of you who don’t habla Espanol, El Nino is Spanish for…The Nino.
