The Rambling Ever On March Madness Bracket Challenge

It’s that time of year again, when Americans begin to talk about Madness, seeds, numbers, and brackets and ask that age-old question that has eluded past generations for millenia…which channel is TruTV?

We here at REO want to invite you to be a part of our bracket challenge, which you can join here. We also strongly encourage you to share some of your key picks in the comments below. We know it’s typical to think “No one really cares about my Final 4 picks.” But you are wrong! So wrong! REO wants to know. So post them below and we can discuss. Also, feel free to share your upset picks as well. But please spare us the lame 10s over 7s and especially those 9s over 8s (which happen as often as not historically1). Sharing your upset pick on Facebook after the fact (particularly if you screenshot it) just makes people mad and jealous. But here we celebrate with you.

So join us this year and may we be merry with mirth and madness.

I’ve got Duke winning it all. Bring it on, haters!

Also, I have Tennessee making it to the Final Four…and maybe a bit further…

I have UK getting beat in the Elite 8…I think.

Gonzaga goes down to Syracuse in the round of 32. Nevada and Louisville both make it to the elite 8. Belmont beats Maryland, UCI Anteaters beat K-State.

Virginia gets sweet redemption by winning it all. Tony Bennett goes into the basketball HOF (eventually).

Seeing as how you were the only one to pick Virginia to win, it appears you won the bracket. Congrats, “Me – you = Champion (JDP),49ersWahooFan”!

David Postlewaite – you got the most important part right! I think your other picks were bold and even though you didn’t get them right I’m glad you shared. You went for it instead of boring chalk. I’m with you there. I think I had a couple of picks in the 13-14 range. I don’t know if you really get into the low odds 1st round upsets until you get to the 13s. 12s over 5s are chick picks because they happen fairly frequently. Happened again this year.

OK. I’m in. I don’t really follow college ball. I joined so it would look more impressive to beat one more person for whoever wins.

LOL at Phill. I know none of us are College Experts. The Bee had a great article about how men pretend this time of . year they’ve been following college all year. Even when I was a teen and followed NCAA like a hawk I still never won much in these bracket challenges.

Just in case any of you were wondering, I will NOT be giving any opinions or making any predictions concerning sports for the foreseeable future. Pretty much everything I wrote above was ruined by yesterday’s opening games. I am ashamed.

I have not been a witness to many true miracles in my lifetime. However, finishing second is definitely one of them! The odds of me finishing second are much higher than the odds of a 16 beating a 1, and then that 1 coming back the next year and winning it all. About the only time I watch college bball is if James is home and I watch a game with him. Even then, I am pretty much dependent on his opinions as he knows so much more than I do. So, thanks for letting me play!

Good job on 2nd! It still takes making the picks no matter how you do it!
